Carol Jean McBride

Carol Jean Ransleben McBride left this earthly life on Thursday, June 15, 2017 after a long battle with leukemia. She was born on August 4, 1942 in Fredericksburg, Texas the daughter of Harvey August Ransleben and Ruby Klett Ransleben who both preceded her in death. Carol was raised in Kerrville, Texas and started and finished her school years in the Kerrville Independent School District. As a freshman she became a band twirler and her senior year was head twirler. After graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas, to attend business school which prepared her for many administrative positions over the years and after twenty years was first retiree at EEPB, PC an accounting firm in Houston, Texas. In 1993, she discovered the world of country and western dancing and after completing classes enjoyed many years of dancing and making friends. Carol was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi. She loved exploring Texas bed and breakfasts with friends, reading, traveling and was an avid scrapbooker and card maker. She was also a member of Merry Ministries Bible Study Group in Sugar Land, Texas. She is survived by her son, James Oran McBride, Jr. and his wife Kelley Lehman McBride, grandchildren Heather Beth McBride and Jonathon James McBride, of Sugar Land, Texas. Also surviving are brothers Karl Albert Ransleben and Randy Russell Ransleben both of Fredericksburg, Texas, as well as her special dog Brandy. Carol has been blessed with a long list of additional family members and wonderful friends who have always been a steady source of support during her lifetime and illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Memorial Drive Lutheran Church, 12211 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024 or the Houston SPCA. A memorial service will be held in Houston, Texas on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Drive Lutheran Church, 12211 Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77024, with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall. The family request attendees honor Carol's patriotic life by wearing the colors red, white, and blue.
