George Thurman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Anthony Thurman completed his course and made his earthly transition to his new heavenly home on February 1, 2015. He was the first child born to his beloved parents, George Thurman *& *Helen King. Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, George served four years in the United States Air Force and worked for Ford Motor Company as a Quality Assurance Engineer until his retirement in 2007. As an active force in his community, George coached little league baseball and basketball; he took every opportunity to be actively engaged in his children's lives. As an avid lover of sports, his appetite and passion for excellence was tangibly demonstrated and nothing made him happier than seeing his children excel. Those left to treasure his endless fond memories are his beloved wife Charlotta; his children Ashley, Andrea, Amber, Piper and Miles; his grandchildren Reggie Dixon, Jr. and Carter Dixon; his mother Helen Paige (Roosevelt); his brothers Jeffrey (Tomiko); Verdell Thurman; his sister Shatara Thurman; step brother & sisters, Brenda Stowers, Valerie Bryant, Roosevelt Paige, Jr. and Jackie Paige; his aunt, Idella Bailey; and host of other relatives and friends that loved and cherished him so very much. His zest for life and commitment to his family will live always in our hearts.
