Jerry Lee Lohden

Jerry Lee Lohden, a Dallasite, passed away at 70 years of age on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Plano, Texas. She was born on November 27, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Byron Dale and Madelene Long Brown. While she was an only child growing up, Jerry is survived by 12 children: Greg (Robin) Lohden, Chris (Virginia) Brown, Tony (Tricia) Lohden, Leslie (Ed) Lee, Wendy (Walt) Baker, Chris (Tiffani) Lohden, Eric (Karen) Lohden, Sabrina (Nicolas) Delacretaz, Holly (Chad) Smith, Ashley Meyer, Sunny (Anne) Lohden, 29 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Last but certainly not least, Jerry is survived by her furry friend, Dito Deux. Jerry was gifted in creative talent, people and service. Her first career was as a buyer for three Dallas area dress shops. With her hands-on retail experience and elegant eye for good taste, she was invited to build up the "Let's Shop" column in The Dallas Times Herald. From there, she met her husband Roy Lohden and with his rugged people appeal and her polished poise, they made history professionally and personally building up a demolition business from scratch and combining children of previous marriages with the family they had together. Jerry was the adhesive that made the "Yours, Mine and Ours" family work, as she loved all and knew no strangers. Jerry was blessed with the love of the Lord in her heart and always spread His love through her smiling face, warm embrace and angelic grace. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 2 o'clock p.m. with Dr. Robert Jeffress officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 o'clock prior to the service. Both visitation and funeral service will be held in Truett Chapel at First Baptist Church Dallas located at 1707 San Jacinto, Dallas, Texas 75201. A private burial service will be held at the Lohden family ranch. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the many extended family, church family and friends who made Jerry's life so full. She will be deeply missed as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, artist, card maker and by all of those who had the pleasure to meet, know or love her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mia Loizeaux Memorial Endowment Scholarship Fund at the University of Maryland School of Nursing or SPCA of Dallas.
