Jo Ann Lewis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jo Ann Rue Lewis passed away September 11, 2013. She was born in Spring Creek, Texas, December 9, 1936. Her mother Pearl Frances Vaught and her father Lonnie D. Rue predeceased her. She and her husband Wilfred (Ted) Lewis were married on June 9, 1955, and celebrated their 58th anniversary of love and companionship. Loving to travel, they lived twice in Canada and their daughter Cindi was born in Edmonton. Her second daughter Amanda was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the family later lived in Lagos, Nigeria. An oil company family, they also lived in Denver and Oklahoma City. She is survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Jo Ann loved sports- she was an avid runner and active in successive health clubs. She taught her class "Lightfeast," which included guided meditations and tai-chi. She was also a published poet and a serious reader and music lover. For nearly 45 years she shared her experience, strength and hope with many people and helped them achieve a wonderful new life. Jo Ann was a true Texas beauty, both outside and within. She was an inspiration to us all. Services will be held on Sat. September 14, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Distinctive Life Chapel, 5455 Dashwood Bellaire, TX. Gathering to follow service
