Joseph W Arnold April 15, 1929-June 29, 2014 Joseph died after a brief illness in Plano, Texas. Originally from Delhi, NY he lived in Sullivan County for most of his adult life: first in Liberty, then Livingston Manor before settling in Rock Hill. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Ann Hopkins Arnold who passed away in 1965, and second wife, Joan Anna Olson Arnold, who passed away in 2005. Joe served in The Army Air Corp and was a very proud veteran. Joe retired from New York State department of Transportation in 1988 where he was a Heavy equipment operator. He moved to Plano Texas in December 2005 and enjoyed an active retirement. He was active in the Plano Senior Center where he held a position on the senior council of Plano. He was an avid dancer and was a common sight at the many dances at the Senior Center. He enjoyed karaoke and could always be counted on to sing any kind of music with the energy of a 20 year old. In May of 2011 he moved into the Waterford retirement community, where he continued to be an active community member. He was on the hospitality and welcoming committees, making sure new residents settled comfortably into the Waterford life style. He also served on the Board of Residents at The Waterford. Joe's eight years in Plano were active and productive. Joe is survived by his son Timothy Arnold; daughter Denise Arnold Fuchs and her children Daniel and Jessica Fuchs; his daughter Theresa Arnold Kirst (Alfred) and their children Breanna, Nicholas DeFelice, and Justin Kirst; his son Michael Arnold (Alison) and their children Lindsey Thomas, Alex Petrosino, Mandara Arnold, Devi Arnold and Malakai Arnold. A memorial service will take place at the Distinctive Life funeral chapel at 1611 N. Central Expressway in Plano at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014 Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Honor of Joseph Arnold. www.woundedwarriorproject.com
