Kathleen Myers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathleen Elizabeth Myers (Kem), 72, of Plano, TX passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 4th, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, LaRue D. (Bud) Myers of Shreveport, LA. and is survived by her mother, Kathleen F. Myers of Shreveport, LA., her husband of 28 years, Greg Olsen of Plano, TX, her daughter, Debi Kipp and son-in-law, Bryan Kipp of Allen, TX, step-son, TSgt C. Sean Olsen and daughter-in-law, Amy Olsen of San Angelo, TX and grandchildren Leah Kipp of Dallas, TX, Matthew Kipp of Allen, TX and Brendan Olsen of Carrollton, TX. Kem is also survived by her two older brothers, Dr. James (Jim) Myers of Richardson, TX and Richard (Dick) Myers of Houston, TX. Kem graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA, Class of '59, and attended El Centro College in Dallas, TX majoring in computer sciences. Kem was always on the cutting edge as a champion of women's rights as early as the 1950's, and enjoyed a long career as a computer programmer and later as Director of the Quality Assurance Dept at the Medical Imaging Division of Kodak. Kem enjoyed studying history, traveling and always loved a good party. She was loved. She will be missed. A memorial will be held at Distinctive Life, 1611 N Central Expwy, Plano, TX. on Saturday, April 12th at 4:00pm.
