Mary Aspell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Constance Aspell, age 81, passed away peacefully at the home of her son in Dallas, TX on March 10, 2016. Born Mary Constance Hayes in Natick, MA, on May 31, 1934, she grew up in South Natick and graduated from Natick High School in 1952. She married the late James J. Aspell in 1955, and shortly thereafter moved to Poitiers, France, where her husband served as a corporal in the US Army intelligence division. She was a longtime resident of Norwood, MA, and in recent years spent time with her daughter in Chapel Hill, NC and her son in Dallas, TX. She was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and she loved to bake and to socialize with her neighbors. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son Jonathan and son-in-law Edwin Hightower of Dallas, TX, and her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Jim Arleth and her grandchildren Gregory, Gillian, Charles and Elaine of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived her sister Eileen and brother-in-law Ronald Woodworth of Norwood, MA, and her sister Patricia Robinson of Southboro, MA, along with numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece Heather Siekman of Sandwich, MA. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, James J. Aspell, as well as by her brother Neil Hayes and her sister Margaret Vespa of Framingham, MA. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill, NC.
