Olen Moseley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Olen Wendal Moseley, 72, left his earthly life to join his beloved mom and dad, Ada Elizabeth and Olen Chayce, and sister, Etta Elaine. Olen peacefully passed in his home in Katy, Texas on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015. He grew up in the Spring Branch area, where he graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1961. He attended Parsons Junior College in Kansas and the University of Houston. He also served 2 plus years in the U.S. Army. Later, he re-met and married Martha Hardy in 1974, and they went on to raise two beautiful daughters, Misty and Michele. Olen was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved all kinds of sports, whether spectating or participating. Olen never met a stranger, was always the life of the party, and had an infectious laugh and a warm, engaging smile. Olen is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, his daughter, Misty Buning and grandsons, Todd E. and Jake; and his daughter and husband Michele and James McLendon, and grandchildren, Trey and Nicole. Additionally, he is survived by his sister and husband, Glenda and Bill Carmody, and sister and husband, Ellen and Tim Carmody, and numerous nieces and nephews. Finally, Olen also leaves behind his faithful, furry companion, Cheyenne. Olen and Martha had hopes of spending their "golden years" spoiling and spending time with their four grandkids. Unfortunately, due to Olen's early onset Alzheimer's, their plans took a different turn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Olen's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Martha and family are so grateful for all of your support, love and prayers during this time. A Celebration of Olen's life will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Living Word Lutheran Church, 3700 South Mason Road in Katy, Texas at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.
