Obituary for Trevor Alberga Hylton (1944 - 2024) Trevor Alberga Hylton, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 80, surrounded by the warmth of the memories he created and the love he shared throughout his life. Born on October 28, 1944, in Kingston, Jamaica, Trevor was the eldest son of Conrad Hylton and Evelyn Myrie, who welcomed him into a world that he would brighten with his joy and kindness. He also grew up with his beloved baby sister Elaine. In 1972, Trevor married Marjorie (Ramsay) Hylton in New York, a love story that began at a party, where Trevor, with his charming and playful spirit, boldly approached Marjorie, tapped her on the shoulder and told her, with a wink, that she was dancing too closely with another man. He told her he could have been her boyfriend and, but she didn’t come with him. He later told her that he had read his horoscope that day and it said he would meet someone who would change his life forever. She found out through the years from him that these were all just lines. Little did they know that encounter would mark the beginning of a lifelong adventure together. They welcomed their cherished daughter, Audra, into their lives, whom they adored. Trevor enjoyed a fulfilling career as a pressman in the printing industry for over 40 years, dedicating his skills and passion to his work, with his final years spent serving the City of Plano. Beyond his professional achievements, Trevor was a man of many passions. He loved playing dominoes, bowling, and cheering for his favorite basketball and football teams. His cinematic preferences leaned towards the legendary performances of Clint Eastwood and Denzel Washington. Music filled his soul, with reggae and Motown bringing out his love for dancing, and weekends were often spent out on the lake, indulging in his favorite pastime: fishing. In addition to being a dedicated family man, Trevor was also an active member of the community. He generously volunteered at the Dallas Arboretum in various positions and proudly joined the Lion's Club during his time in Canada. Known for his warm spirit and open heart, he never met a stranger, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. He truly had a heart of gold. Trevor is preceded in death by his loving parents, Conrad Hylton and Evelyn Myrie. His sister Elaini Tom-Rose. His memory endures through his devoted wife, Marjorie, and his beloved daughter, Audra (Steve) Stevenson, who will carry his legacy of love and kindness in their hearts forever. In celebration of Trevor's vibrant life, family and friends will gather for a funeral service to honor his legacy. The service will take place at Distinctive Life Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 1 PM till 4 PM where guests will be invited to share their cherished memories, laughter, and love for Trevor.
