Allen Dufault Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Allen Lee Dufault went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2015, in Austin, Texas at the age of 57, far too soon for his family. A celebration in honor of his life was held Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at the Northwoods at Avery Ranch in Austin, Texas. A second Celebration to honor Al's life will be held at Constance Free Church, 16150 Crosstown Boulevard Northwest, Andover, Minnesota on Thursday, December 3, 2015, with a visitation at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM, and lunch following. Allen was born November 17, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Donald and Jeanne (Morinville) Dufault. He graduated from Columbia Heights High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from St. John's University. Al was a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Project Management Professional. After college, Al began his career with Arthur Andersen as a Financial Auditor and then with Andersen Consulting, which later became Accenture. He left Accenture for four years to be an Application and Systems Manager of the Financial Analyst's Management and Authoring System at First Bank. He returned to Accenture and was there for over 25 years. At Accenture, Al was an Associate Partner and worked on large system integration projects. He specialized with integrating PeopleSoft systems for state and local governments. In 2009, Al left Accenture and became an Independent Consultant. He was currently an employee of Resource Integrators, LLC in Austin, Texas where he was an Enterprise Resource Planning System Architect at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. Prior to that role he served as the CAPPS HCM Technical Manager. Al met his lifelong sweetheart and soulmate Leslie while in senior high and the two were married on August 4, 1979; they were married 36 years. Together they enjoyed vacationing, listening to live bands, cooking for their family, and snuggling with one another. Al always had an unquenchable thirst for reading from Randy Wayne White's Floridian mysteries to Tom Clancy's espionages to the latest programming book for his "light" bedside reading. Al was fiercely intelligent while still remaining kind and humble. When Al walked into the room, everyone knew it; he had an unmistakable presence. He brought his family together through his leadership, wisdom, gentle spirit, and loving heart. He was an honorable man. Al never forgot the little things. He did every project, no matter the difficulty, to perfection. You will not find a better built deck or a better repaired boat. He always did it right. Al's true love for the Lord shined through in his deep and extremely insightful comments and conversations about Him. Al touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Leslie (Graves); children, Pamela (Douglas) Nelson, Tony, Samantha (David) Kurien, and Jacob; grandchildren, Kaila, Ryan, and Hannah Kurien and Lucas Nelson; mother, Jeanne Dufault; sister, Linda Boss (Jim) Price; father-in-law, Clarence Graves; sister-in-law, Jennifer Dufault; niece and nephews, Lisa (Jeff) Ficken, James (Marisa) Boss, and Joey and Mitchell Dufault; and grand-nieces, Santanna, Kelsey, and Scarlett Ficken and Allyson and Catalyna Boss. Al is preceded in death by his father, Donald Dufault; his brother, Roger Dufault; his mother-in-law, Muriel Graves; and his brother-in-laws, Jeffrey Graves and Kevin Boss. On behalf of Al's family we would like to especially recognize Bob Launius, David Launey, Helen Sparks, Kelley Martin, Phillips and Fatima Yedanapalli, Gary Faires and his two children Nicole and Dusty for their unyielding support, gentle kindness and abundant generosity in our time of need. God presented himself through each of them and for that we are beyond grateful and humbled with our deepest gratitude. We will not forget the additional support and love shown by all of Al's friends and co-workers in Austin. Because of Al's love of knowledge and learning any memorial donations may be made in Al's name to St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota or to Friends of the Hennepin County Library.
