Enriqueta Garcia Villarreal Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Enriqueta "Queta" Villarreal was born on May 20, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas and lived in both the San Antonio and Houston areas throughout her life. Queta left her life, peacefully in her sleep, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 1, 2020. Queta is survived by her husband, Robert Galvan Villarreal, of 61 years and her children: daughters Blanca Gonzalez and husband David and children Bianca, David, Alexandria, Steven, Victoria, and Anthony; Leticia Villarreal and ex-husband Shawn and children Christopher, Nicole, and Patrick; Patricia Abraham and husband Joseph and son Lucas; Kathryn Ponce de León and husband Victor and children Alexander, Nicolas, Liliana, and Benjamin; and son Robert Michael Villarreal and wife Valerie and children Isabella, Joncarlo, Lourdes, and Mateo. Queta was loved dearly by her husband, children and spouses, and grandchildren. Queta was raised in San Antonio and graduated from Fox Technical High School in 1953. She married her first love on April 5, 1959 and lived in San Antonio with Robert until 1971 when they moved to Houston with their five children. While living in Houston in the 1970s and 1980s, Queta proudly worked at NASA's Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center where, as a valued employee, she was invited to "Mission Control" to witness the Columbia Space Shuttle launch. In 1985, Queta moved to San Antonio with her family to care for her aging parents. She continued her civil service career at The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development where she worked until retirement in 1997. Queta loved her family and friends dearly. She was a strong-minded woman with a great sense of humor and a witty personality. She had a positive attitude and led her life to the fullest. Queta was a gambler at heart. She loved playing (and more importantly winning) Bingo. Wherever her travels may have taken her, Queta would find a casino to visit to play the slot machines. She loved Las Vegas and shared that love with her late sister, Simona. With birthdays only a few days apart, they travelled to Vegas annually from 1993 until Simona passed away in 2013. Queta loved her pet dogs - together, her and Robert shared a deep love for Mambo, Chato, Benji, Dulce, Bella, and Charley. As a loving Christian, Queta has been taken Home to God where she has been reunited with her infant son, Baby Robert, who was born and passed away on August 22, 1964. No doubt, Enriqueta Garcia Villarreal received a grand welcoming into Heaven on the morning of October 1, 2020 as she was the baby girl and last surviving member of her family - preceded in death by her Mom Dolores, Dad Epifaño, brothers Fortino, Pepe, Joe, sisters Dora, Dolores, and Simona. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, to celebrate the life of Enriqueta Garcia Villarreal at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and social distancing practiced.
