Dr. Jack Pruett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dr. Jack Ridings Pruett, age 79, passed away at his home in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1941, to Sarah Drucilla Pruett and Jasper Battle Pruett. Dr. Pruett graduated from The University of Texas medical school in San Antonio, Texas in 1971 and practiced medicine for over 40 years. He had a competitive spirit, especially on the golf course, and was passionate about research and learning new things. He loved to travel and came as close to obtaining his pilot license as he was able without vision in one eye. Dr. Pruett is survived by his son Paul Pruett, daughter Jacqueline Camacho, granddaughter Amber Camacho, grandson Anthony Camacho and two sisters, Sue McGahee and Dr. Kay Garcia. Dr. Pruett is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eleanor Lovato, and brother Dr. Chester E. Pruett. Funeral services will be held at West End Church, 802 Shepherd Dr., Houston, TX 77007 on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. A viewing will be held at the church starting at 10:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am. Masks will be required at the church and a live stream of the service will be available at bit.ly/30Dan2u. Dr. Pruett will be buried next to his mother at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas. Graveside services will be held in Pittsburg on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
