Laura Esquivel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Laura Esquivel entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at the age of 78. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. John's The Evangelist Parish, 105 Hwy 1431 East, Marble Falls, Texas. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Distinctive Life Cremations and Funerals of Austin. Laura was born Saturday, November 14, 1936 in Lagos de Moreno in Jalisco, Mexico, to Salvador and Soledad (Val De Pena) De La Torre. She grew up in San Luis Potosi where she worked at her father's photography studio. She moved to Tijuana, Mexico, with her family, where she later met the man who would become her husband of 55 years, Manuel Esquivel. They were married June 21,1959. Later, they moved to New Braunfels, Texas where her husband started his career with LCRA. Laura graduated from Cosmetology School and worked many years for Eileen's Beauty Salon in Marble Falls, Texas where they resided together for 41 years. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Olivia and Tere; and two brothers, Reynaldo and Jose. She is survived by her beloved husband, Manuel; their four children, Olivia Esquivel, Manuel Esquivel and wife, Ana, Larry Esquivel and wife, Lesley, and Laura Esquivel Smith and husband, Roger; nine grandchildren, Meredith and husband, Robert, Jordan and wife, Gina, David, John Michael, Carrianna, Dayton, Cassidy, Evan, and Clarissa; three great-grandchildren, Lenae, TaylorAnn, and Kaleb; two sisters, Luz Maria and husband, Pete, and Carmela; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. The family would like to whole-heartedly thank all beloved family members and friends for the outpouring of love and emotional support, their visits, phone calls, flowers, and gifts. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Legend Healthcare-Granite Mesa in Marble Falls, and especially Texas Home Health Hospice for their nurturing care of our dear Laura.
