Bonnie Francine ”Fran” (Fails) Kaschmitter, 85, of Allen, Texas passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 2, 1941 in Tyler, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of John C. and Frances Fails. Fran lived a life defined by her deep Catholic faith, her sharp analytical mind, and her joyful competitive spirit. After earning her associates degree in Accounting from Tyler Junior College, she went on to hold several jobs and eventually built a successful career as a payroll accountant. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail, impeccable integrity, and a gift for making complex numbers make perfect sense. Fran was a devout parishioner of St Joseph Catholic Church for 50 years. Fran found peace in daily prayer, fellowship at Sunday Mass, and membership in various groups, including the Circle of Friends and the Women’s Guild. Fran was a lifelong learner who loved getting lost in a good book or tackling daily puzzles. Her nimble mind made her a formidable bridge player, a game she enjoyed with her local friends for decades. She loved the challenge of the game and treasured the camaraderie, the laughter, and the lifelong friendships she made over the bridge table. Fran was also a gifted seamstress, whether it was sewing beautiful garments for her family or sitting down to an intricate needlework project, her creations were filled with love. Above all, Fran’s greatest joy and most significant legacy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adored grandmother and great-grandmother, who always made time to offer wisdom, support, and encouragement. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her warm smile, her sharp wit, and the graceful way she navigated life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard “Dick” Kaschmitter, and her parents. Fran is survived by her children, Robert (Cathy) and their children: Todd, Carrie, and Troy; her daughter, Karen (Dave) Patton and their children: Katie (Arizona) Gibbs and their children Benjamin, Joseph, William, and Margaret; Melissa (Kyle) Warren and daughter Elizabeth; DJ, Janie, and Rick; and her daughter, Evelyn (Chuck) Steinke and their children, Ryan and Rachel (Jamaal) Washington, as well as many extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Fran’s life on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at St Joseph Catholic Church. The Rosary will be held at 1:00, followed by the Memorial Mass at 1:30 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fran’s memory to the Society of St Vincent de Paul at St Joseph Catholic Church.
