Charles Boyer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles S. Boyer, 83, of Plano TX passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Settlers Ridge Care Center of Celina, Tx. He was born in Burlington, VT on January 13, 1931 to the late William F. Boyer and Celestia Besette Boyer. He was married to Barbara Womacks Boyer on July 15, 1953, in Champaign, Illinois. They raised their family in Central Illinois for a few years before settling in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Upon retirement they moved to Plano, Texas in 1999. Chuck was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in the Gulf War as one of the oldest members of the Air Force Reserves. His diverse working experience also included a position as a newspaper photographer in Champaign, Illinois. From there Chuck became a newsreel cameraman for CBS, WGN, NBC, and ABC News in Chicago. He filmed presidential visits, the birth of Secretariat the Triple Crown Winner, and the Cubs, his choice of Chicago teams among many other important and interesting events. Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara of 60 years and his four children, Charles S. Boyer, Jr. (Joie), David A. Boyer (Cheryl), of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Denise Boyer (Aaron), and Debbie Boyer Gorski (Thomas), of Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren Jeremy Boyer (Rosa)of East Rockaway, NY, Justin Boyer (Amber)of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Eric Boyer (Kassie)of Fayetteville, NC, Cameron Gorski of Frisco, TX and Melanie Gorski of Frisco, TX, and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The National Parkinson Foundation. A Celebration of Life in honor of Charles will be held on Sunday March 23, 2014 at the family residence.
