george woodley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George Harold Woodley, Sr., was born in Jemison, Alabama on September 7, 1929 to Jim and Lena Woodley. He passed away on Christmas Day, 2014. He was a long time resident of Richmond TX. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. George graduated from Jemison High School in 1947. He worked in the steel-making industry and built plants and factories in South America, South Africa, India, the Middle East, the Carribiean as well as the United States. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and Shriners, Birmingham York Rites. He was a member of the Bricklayers International Union for 62 years. He is survived by a loving family, including his son, George Woodley, Jr. and wife Marcy, Richmond TX; and two daughters Linda Hausman-Pels and husband Lee, Meadows Place TX; and Wanda Taylor and husband Roland, Baytown TX and grandchildren Hanna and Jesse Woodley, Mathew Moates, Emily and Robin Hausman-Pels and Gabriel Ginn, great grandchildren Isaac Moates, Jude and Lola Ginn. Mr. Woodley is preceeded in death by his grandson, Adam Roy Woodley and his granddaughter, Amanda Gay Ginn. There will be a small, private service.
