Nick Sabula

Nick Sabula, age 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a very courageous six month battle with Leukemia. He was born on June 11,1949 in Youngstown, Ohio to Nick and Chris Sabula. Nick graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1967. He served in the Navy after graduating. Upon returning home he attended and graduated from Youngstown State University while working at General Motors. In 1978 Nick and his family moved to Houston TX where he started a business in the flooring industry which he continued until his retirement. Nick will be tremendously missed by his family and friends. Nick was a kind, loyal and fair man with a huge heart, always looking out and helping those less fortunate than himself, without ever wanting recognition for his good deeds. Nick strongly believed in a simple life. Things of this earth and worldly possessions weren't important to him, but rather spending time with those he loved. He cherished watching his son play sports, and his daughter in her activities through the years. He continued later in his life always being present and cheering on his grandchildren. He was quite the comedian, finding pleasure in making others smile and laugh. There was never a dance floor Nick would pass by! Listening to music and dancing, particularly with his wife Bonnie, brought him so much joy over the years. We know he is dancing with the angels in heaven now! Nick is survived by his wife Bonnie of almost 44 years, his daughter Wendy (Tommy) Papadakis of Austin,TX and son Nick Jr (Brittney) Sabula of Katy, TX and two grandchildren Lexie and Colby Papadakis; his brother Jim (Judy) Sabula of Poland, OH; his aunt Bernice DePoala of Austintown, OH as well as many other cousins and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Nick and Chris Sabula.
