Rick Allen Sellers

Rick Allen Sellers, 72, passed away on February 27, 2026, at his home in Plano, Texas. He was born on July 23, 1953, in De Forest, Wisconsin, to Douglas and Alvera Sellers. Rick grew up in De Forest, Wisconsin, and graduated from Madison East High School in 1971. After high school, he attended Edgewood University in Madison, Wisconsin, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He later pursued his Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Dallas. Rick was the president of a credit union and received a Certificate of Completion from the University of Wisconsin in 1978. In 1981, he moved to Texas and worked with various companies as a Chief Financial Officer. At the same time, he operated his accounting and tax preparation business, R & S Tax Solutions, for 44 years. Rick earned scholarships for playing tennis and also competed in state bowling tournaments. He loved cars and enjoyed working with his father at their gas station, where he helped repair cars and learned mechanical skills. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, and his son, Joshua. He is also survived by his sons Christopher and Nathan, and daughter Ashley from previous marriages. He is further survived by his two brothers, James Sellers (Val Sellers) and Dean Sellers; nephews Luke Sellers and Nick Sellers; nieces Diana, Kristine, and Brittany Sellers; and his granddaughter, Elaine Hope Sellers. Rick was deeply admired for his kindness and willingness to help others. He had an incredible talent with numbers, and I was always in awe of how he could calculate figures with very little use of a calculator. I often told him, “Sweetie, you are like a walking calculator.” Rick was a loving husband who always checked on me to see if I had breakfast, and sometimes he would even bring it to my workplace. He devoted his life to our family, especially to me and to our son Joshua, of whom he was incredibly proud. Rick will be remembered for his love, generosity, and dedication to his family.
