Stephen Charles Jusko

Stephen Charles Jusko, 90, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 5, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Stephen and Edith Jusko, Steve lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, deep love for his family, and a quick wit that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A proud graduate of East Technical High School in 1952, Stephen went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland in 1956, followed by a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from SMU. He began his career at Melpar Inc. in Falls Church, Virginia, and later joined E-Systems, where he dedicated 40 years of service before retiring in 1997. While working in Bethesda, Maryland, Stephen met the love of his life, Ann. Together, they welcomed their first son, Mike, before moving to Greenville, Texas, and eventually settling in Miller Grove, where they raised their four children on a cherished family farm. The family later made their home in Rockwall, Texas. Stephen had an inquisitive mind and a deep passion for engineering, earning a patent for a voice processor and contributing to several important projects, including the Big Safari Program and, in his words, "Super Secret Spy Shit." Despite his impressive professional accomplishments, Stephen always said his greatest achievement was his family. Known affectionately as "Grandpap" by his grandchildren, Stephen was a man of incredible intelligence and humor. His one-liners, devotion to his loved ones, and love for his animals—especially his dog and a particularly beloved cow named Snowman—will be fondly remembered. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, he could often be found watching a game with family nearby. He found joy in the simple things—time spent on the farm, tinkering with cars, and being surrounded by those he loved most. Stephen is survived by his children: Lynn Jusko (Steve), Stephen Patrick Jusko, and Carrin Banning (John); his two dogs: Bailey and Thumper; nine grandchildren: Ley Jusko, Stephen Charles Jusko II (Daphne), Jami Jusko, Kelsey DeGhelder (Matthew), Kayley Gonzalez Zion (Alberto), Aydan Melton, Jessica Zinsmenister (Mason), Carly Banning, and McKenna Banning; and eleven great-grandchildren: Allison, Stephen, Jasper, Lawson, Novaleigh, Ryker, Archibald, Sophia, Benson, Brielle, and Bayler. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann, his son Mike Jusko, and his parents. Stephen Charles Jusko leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet brilliance. His family will carry his memory forward with gratitude, pride, and, of course, a few good one-liners.
