Our Remembrance of Steve Myers The loving warmth Steve brought to each of us continues in our hearts. Steve was born on February 11, 1950 to Hazel and Billy Dean Myers in Wichita, Kansas and left us on March 26, 2021 in Plano, Texas. He grew up in Leeds, Alabama. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. It was here that he developed a lifelong friendship and love with his wife, Cheryl. Their marriage lasted 45 incredible and amazing years. Pure joy lit up their lives with the birth of their son, Clint. Steve had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and learning. He loved asking questions and trying to find simple solutions to the world's trickiest problems. While working in Mexico and living in McAllen, Texas, Steve earned a Master's Degree in Business from the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley. Even in his retirement, Steve kept busy with his many hobbies: remodeling, woodworking, travel, gardening, and cooking. A proud Eagle Scout until the end, he also valued civic engagement and volunteerism. He has worked on many builds for Habitat for Humanity and drove multiple routes with Meals on Wheels. He most enjoyed going on adventures with his best buddy and grandson, Ronin. Steve's love for his family was limitless. Of all his accomplishments, he aspired most to be a kind and loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is dearly missed by his wife, Cheryl; his son, Clint, with his wife Sophia, their son Ronin, and Sophia's family; his brother, Mark, with his wife Sherri and her family; his sister, Sharon Compton, and her husband Jim and their family; and by all of Cheryl's family and their many friends. Due to COVID and a sincere desire that everyone stays safe and healthy, we ask that you share your condolences (and if you wish, a favorite story) on this website. Steve believed in giving, sharing, and earth sustainability. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that you consider donating to a charity that supports equality, earth sustainability, or civic awareness.
