In the heart of every family, there is a unique story of love. The story of Teresa Rodgers Drake is one that is deeply woven into the fabric of her family’s life. On November 17, 2023, Teresa, beloved wife, and cherished mother, found her peaceful rest at the age of 57. Born on August 15, 1966, in Fort Worth, Texas, Teresa was the precious youngest daughter of Johnny and Lela Rodgers. Her roots were firmly planted in Everman, Texas, where she blossomed into a beautiful dancer on the high school drill team and was a member of the Kiwanettes where she left a lasting impression on those who knew her. After graduating from Everman High School in 1984, Teresa embarked on a journey of lifelong learning, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Texas at Arlington. This laid the foundation for her successful career in the technology industry ending her career as a Supply Chain Manager at the Swedish technology company, Ericsson. On September 15, 1990, Teresa married the love of her life, Robert Drake, in a ceremony filled with love and joy. Their love story was enriched 3 years later with the birth of their daughter, Taylor Nicole, who brought immeasurable happiness to their lives. Together, they built a beautiful life in Allen, Texas, where they resided for 25 years. Teresa’s devotion to her family was the cornerstone of their home, and her love and support was their shelter. Teresa’s life was a tapestry of simple pleasures. Whether it was creating culinary delights in the kitchen, capturing precious memories with her camera, or exploring new horizons through her travels, she found joy in every moment. Sunflowers held a special place in her heart, symbolizing her vibrant and radiant spirit and her Christian faith was her guiding light. Teresa’s heart was as vast as the Texas sky, always ready to give and help others. She dedicated her time and energy to the Susan G Komen 3-Day foundation, walking four separate 60-mile journeys to support breast cancer research and awareness. In her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to either the Susan G Komen 3-Day foundation or Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Teresa’s legacy is one of love and generosity. Her kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious smile and positive spirit were the sunshine that brightened any room she entered, leaving a lasting impact on both friends and acquaintances alike. Teresa’s love continues to live on in her devoted husband, Robert Drake; her loving daughter, Taylor Koch, and son-in-law, Kyle Koch; her mother, Lela Rodgers; her dear sister, Pam Williamson, and a multitude of extended family members and friends whose lives she touched and enriched. Although Teresa’s physical presence has left us, her spirit continues to dance in our hearts. May we honor her memory by cherishing our loved ones, spreading kindness, and embracing each day with the same zest for life that she possessed. Rest in peace, dear Teresa.
