Tony Arriola Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Antonio (Tony) S. Arriola passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 62. A Mass and Memorial Service will be held 10:00am, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, Tx, 78704, with burial at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35, Austin, Tx 78704. A reception will follow at San Jose Community Center at 2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, Tx 78704 for family and friends. Born in San Antonio Texas on July 23, 1953 to Josefa and Trinidad Arriola, he was part of a family of 14 children. He was a residential painter by trade. He enjoyed participating and running in the Capital 10K every year. He also enjoyed playing Frisbee Disc golf and bike riding around town. He had been cast as an extra in the movies "The Alamo" and "Man of the House" with Tommy Lee Jones, filmed in and around Austin, Texas. Though they were small parts he felt very proud to participate in them and be around such big movie stars. Tony was preceded in death by his father Trinidad Arriola and sister Irene Arriola. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Josefa Arriola; brothers, Robert Arriola, Manuel Arriola, Richard Arriola, Joe Arriola; sisters, Mary A. Garcia, Janie Silguero, Annie Cheung, Rosie Meldrum, Terri Moreno, Lupe Guerra, Elaine Grimes, Yolanda Arriola; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly. The family wishes to thank all the staff and personnel who cared for Tony during his stay at St David's South Austin Hospital and Christopher House.
