John "Johnny" Benavidez was born on August 8, 1944 to Jose and Aurora Benavidez in Marlin, Texas. He married Carolina Martinez on November 21, 1975. John joined the Military Marine Corp at the age of 15 and completed boot camp before they found out his real age. At age 16 he joined the US Air Force until 1973. He then began training at General Motors for car salesman. He retired after 35 years in car sales. Once retired in 2013, he was able to enjoy time with his family and the weekend family dinners.
