Carol Edith (Fine) Willett, a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nana, and great Nana, died on January 12, 2021 after a 5 month battle with illness. She passed at home surrounded by family and will be greatly missed.

Carol was born March 14, 1935 in Fort Madison IA to Lester and Alma Fine. She attended Farmington High School where she played basketball and was voted Homecoming Queen her senior year. Upon graduating, she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington IA and graduated as a Registered Nurse.

In 1953 while attending nursing school, she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Brewer Willett Jr., who was in the U.S. Coast Guard stationed on the Mississippi River in Burlington. They were married on October 14, 1956 and were inseparable for 63 years before Bob's passing in 2019.

They spent 25 years in Marion, IA and raised two sons and a daughter. During that time, Carol worked as a nurse in various settings including a hospital and private medical practices. She was active in the community and made many lifelong friendships.

They later retired in Hot Springs Village AR and spent 25 years adding to their long list of friends, taking extended road trips, playing tennis & golf, enjoying nature and bird watching, actively involved in the Methodist Church and enjoying life. Carol was fun-loving and always had a desire and ability to bring a neighborhood or community together to care for and support each other.

She joins her husband and parents in heaven and will be greatly missed by her brother Jerry Fine of Fort Madison IA, son Bob Willett of Princeton TX, daughter Sunny & husband Greg Geels of Princeton TX, son Steve & wife Mia Willett of Southlake TX, grandchildren Allison, Rachael, Steven, Danielle, Derek & wife Emily, Tanner & wife Hygia, Kayla & husband Ariano and four great-grandsons Luke, Charlie, William and Adrian.

A memorial service to honor the life of Carol & Bob Willett will be held March 13, 2021.

Meg Koziar on Feb 18, 2021

Carol and Bob were the center of the social activities in the Magnifico neighborhood in Hot Springs Village. They produced a neighborhood newsletter, organized parties at least a couple of times a year, and maintained a directory of the 30 or so families in this subdivision. We have missed them terribly, and are very saddened that they have both passed away. Please accept my condolences. Meg Koziar, 13 Magnifico Lane, HSV
