Curtis Lee Johnson, Jr. July 10, 1924 - May 4, 2019

Send Flowers

Curtis L. Johnson was born 1924 in Dallas, TX.  Life during the depression years left an indelible mark on the boy for what was important in life that followed him all his life.  Leaving high school, Curtis entered WWII serving for the Air Force as a crew chief in charge of servicing B-25 bombers.  Married life with Evelyn, a legacy of 68 years, began while stationed in Tampa, Florida.  Some of his fondest memories as newlyweds were hitch-hiking together in a time when a soldier and his girl always got a ride.  Favorite destinations were pristine beaches and fishing spots.

He spent his working career as a service manager for the Burroughs Corp.  Retiring early, it gave him great pleasure that he had been able to enjoy retired life so many more years than he had worked

Curtis was very gifted in working on anything.  He fixed anything from cars to computers.  His analytical mind thrived on figuring how things worked.  He was never without his tools and was in constant demand by all members of the family as well as neighbors and acquaintances.  He loved the challenge of fixing things and was very adept at it.  It defined his essence.

He had his pilots license at one point in his life, enjoying taking the family on short excursions.  Later on, he and Evelyn  enjoyed RVing, taking the grandkids on many of those excursions, fishing, and metal detecting.

Curtis was pre-deceased by his wife Evelyn and is survived by his children John Johnson, Glynne Steele, Wayne Johnson, Terri Stokes.  He had 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

It was a beautiful 94 year old life leaving…

the way he lived his life….

He and Evelyn left a legacy of love.
